Okay, that's the *third* knee-jerk anti-libertarian who has managed to go off in a wildly hilarious rant which completely misses what I actually wrote. Libertarians can often get a little loony, but honestly, nothing tops a conservative who is rabidly anti-libertarian -- their entire higher brain functions shut down and they start frothing at the mouth.

In a nutshell, when Dems win, that only energizes Republicans; it doesn't make us want to go over to the ENEMY WITHIN and vote Libertarian.

When supposed adults write / believe in so much drivel, they have to be cases of arrested developement , Only children and those who haven't ever reached any level of maturity, could believe that there should be no age limit ( but a " height " limit ) to vote, that pornography ( even kiddie porn ) is okay, that legalizing all forms of dope is fine, and on and on, and on.

The "conscience" vote is self-possesion. The only way it is not is when others enjoy it, too. I haven't seen it, at least not among straight-ticket voters I know, raincoats and all.
You didn't say that you aren't a Libertarian, in the post I replied to. You left it quite open, so that I and others assumed that you are one. At the very least, you were their champion and not a very good one. That you don't like the responses, that you engendered, is your problem.

No, I don't want to recapture the Libertarians, if it means that the GOP have to cave in and take on enough of their positions, to woo them into the fold. What you fail to realize, is that by doing so, the GOP would lose the majoprity of its REPUBLICAN base. If they wanted to be Libertainas, they would be; not Republicans.
