Here in St. Tammany we had a heavy turnout. As I'm sure you know, St. Tammany is heavily Republican. At my precinct the poll workers told me at 10 a.m. that so far the turnout had been much higher than in 2000. The workers at my parents' precinct told them at about the same time this morning that turnout there was about triple what it was at the same time on election day 2000.
