Everyone has had their eyes on the senate race here, but the gubernatorial and lt. governor's races are both also too close to call -- neither one has had a Republican in office since Reconstruction.

I feel a historic moment coming on...

Not only that, but the very vicious 11th Congressional seat is still up for grabs; most of metro Atlanta's precincts have NOT come in with that race yet; Cobb County is being considered stronghold territory for our guy, Phil Gingrey. Life is good!

Shannon "Hillary" O'Brien is getting ready to give her concession speech. Republican Mitt Romney has won the governorship of Massachusetts. With 54% of the vote in, Romney is still holding a 52-43% lead. Thank you Green Party who took 3% of the vote from O'Brien, but in the end, Romney didn't need it.

I am very happy about Romney's victory. He is one of the most decent people who ever ran for office here. The last three GOP governors for Massachusetts haven't been anything to brag about, but I have high hopes for Mitt Romney. Hopefully he can rebuild the GOP here in Massachusetts and start breaking the stranglehold the 'Rats have in the state senate.

Wouldn't it be great to have a Republican gov here? This would be a huge upset, and old Tom Murphy may see his control of the state slip away. Winning the governor race would be the first step in Republicans winning more seats statewide.
