If I were a dem I'd spin it that it's just due to 9/11. Country rallying behind Bush ... Actually could be some truth to the corollary - after 9/11 the sheeple want grown-ups running things. But the night is still young. There is still time for the dems to steal some votes.
The spew I've read on DU, is that their perception is that the American people are "fearful" and look to W as "Lord Protector".
