I find Ron Kirk rather likable as a person. But, that party label makes him unpalatable to me as a senator. If he'd have run for governor he would have stood a reasonable chance of winning.

Plus, contrast his demeanor with that of that punk Tony Sanchez. I thought Kirk handled himself well during the interview on channel 8.

Maybe there's a party switch in his future? Remember, he refused to endorse Gore in 2000, and he seems to be on good terms with President Bush. W's take on Ron Kirk: "He's a good fella, but he's not gonna help me pass my agenda."

Plenty of RATS deserve the deragatory comments tonight, but IMO Kirk isn't one of them.

Awwwww... Jim Traficant (I) lost in Ohio's 17th district - the DemocRAT won. Good news! Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) winning in Arkansas!

Switched back to CNN... this is actually FUN to watch the funeral there! Stunned, fake smiles all over: Aaron Brown, Judy Woodruff, Jeff Greenfield, Mark Shields, Larry King... who is now interviewing that jackass Bill Maher. Maher is being nasty, arrogant... a classic SoreLoserman: "Liddy Dole uses Viagra in her HAIR!" What a scumbag! Back to Fox News Channel!

3 & 4 I love it!
I would have loved it if 1 passed but Republicans spend zero money on it.

I don't want to get any messages saying, 'I am holding my position.' We are not holding a Goddamned thing. Let the Germans do that. We are advancing constantly and we are not interested in holding onto anything, except the enemy's balls. We are going to twist his balls and kick the living shit out of him all of the time. Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy. We are going to go through him like crap through a goose; like shit through a tin horn!

Ah yes, that's the part I was trying to remember. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside, especially when watching DU in total meltdown. Many thanks to you for posting this fine speech!

"Wcco, channel 4, Minneapolis saying that the Iron Range (NW) had 85% voter turn out. Democrats are saying they'll pull 75% of that vote. I'm getting worried. I hope our President is right about Coleman winning."

As you should be. I heard to sleeze on TV. He knows something. And My guess is that they resorted to every cheating scam known to pull off this election. Many of the cheating votes come in last. It takes longer to cheat. It takes time to destroy/alter votes and make every thing tally. Those countys who are honest get them in quick because all they have to do is turn in the votes. That is my theory anyways.

LOL re your post #2308.

While at our County Republican Committee headquarters this eve. I had the absolute pleasure to speak with a woman who I had seen a few hrs. earlier handing out fliers at a local supermarket. She was urging people to vote and was handing out fliers for one of our candidates.

Well.... it turns out she's the candidate's sister and she's from Mass.!!!! I congratulated her on her fortitude at this lib/rat bastion and she said "hey, I'm from Mass. I'm always fighting an upstream battle. No place for shy Republicans!"

Have a good day at work.

If the Republicans DON'T deliver, that is the end of it. Don't you think? Republicans will be voted out, in droves, if they don't keep their platform and positions.

I hope you're right, that they'd do the right thing in order to avoid this. However, the R's have done so many stupid things over the years. My greatest fear is of them making stupid compromises because the D's are getting good media coverage. It's happened before, and a lot of the guilty parties are still in Congress.

Off-topic, I see Hillary announcing an exploratory committee no later than March, with a formal candidacy by October, '03. The real test will be to see how the R's respond.

90% of precincts reporting survey result
MO
Talent 860,057 50%
Carnahan 833,949 48%

36% of St. Louis precincts still out. They must be holding them back. There should be fewer than a 20,000 net Carnahan vote in them (not enough to overcome the 37,000 vote lead for Talent), but when the vote stealers get going, anything can happen.

I'm kinda tired tonight, mostly concentrating on some other work, and only half absorbing the good news. Can anyone summarize?

How close are we to locking in a Republican majority in the Senate?

Considering states still in play, and how they are looking, what is the best we might reasonably hope for? 52 seats? 53? 54?!?

Are we still going to have a majority of Governorships?

Oh, and btw, who wants to run the pool as to when Terry McAuliffe will step down as DNC chair?

Is Scumbag is loosing his semen stained grip on the party? If so (alas) who do freepers think might step into the gap? Personally I'm pulling for Babs.
