darn straight - the device should print out a receipt showing you who you voted for. Amazing that they don't do it - I wonder what rational they use to justify not doing it?

Actually, the device should print two receipts. One for you to keep and one for the poll workers to keep in a locked ballot box. That way, if there is any challenge to the results of the electronic tabulation, they can hand count the votes on the printed receipts. A special number of bar code would match on both receipts in case they have to call in your receipt to match it to the receipt kept by the polls in case of a discrepancy.
