Current project car is a 78 Camaro that I got as a stripped down chassis from a friend who was cleaning out his barn. Had to put wheels on it just to get it on the trailer. Swapped the rebuilt, blue-printed 350 from a 79 Caprice into it with a decent port-n-polish job. 1 5/8" headers. 20" Thrush out 3" tail-pipes. 3" balance tube in front of the mufflers. 3.73 Auborn posi. She's got a decent rumpa-rumpa at idle that is as mild as any stocker out there. Doesn't go full thoated roar until you step off into it.

Future plans include hauling it down here to Texas from where she is stored at in Minnesota. Whipple supercharger. TrickFlow heads. Rebuild the TH-400 (got a TCI 3800 stall convertor for it) and upgrade her plumbing to 5/8 fuel and braided everything else. Comp Engineering for a dual purpose suspension (street and straight set-up).

Compensating for something? No. Hobby and adrenaline. Nothing more to it. I've never had a speeding ticket nor caused an accident. Nor am I the type to go blasting through a suburban neighborhood at full throttle at 2 AM.

Namby-pamby Mrs. Grundy types can just get over the fact that there are rude people floating around out there doing things they don't approve of.

Boy howdy! You've got the fever! Your '78 sounds like magazine material! My last Camaro was a '78. It looked a lot faster than it was. None the less, I lost my license in that car. It's better to have a sleeper than a fancy paint job! The one car I really wish I'd never sold was my '75 Camaro. Some day I'm going to build another one.

Supercharging is a hoot! You can (almost) never have too much power. Besides, I really love that s/c sound. Good luck with yours!
