Gee!  All of this time I thought that gun registration information was destroyed shortly after approval for purchase.  Isn't that what they told us?

You are an absolute fool if you comply with ANY attempts to register firearms purchased before the confiscation ploy was placed in force.  Furthermore, you are a fool if you purchase any gun anywhere other than a gun show or by private means that are exempt from registration.

Here in Texas you must show your driver's license to purchase ammo.  Of course, your driver's license is directly connected to your social security number and guess what?   The government circumvented the gun registration process because they know:

We have already given up our liberty and freedoms simply because women and timid males would gladly throw away rights granted by the Constitution and subsequent amendments in exchange for pseudo security granted by "Big Brother."

I live in Texas. What the hell are you talking about? I buy ammo all the time without ID and pay cash. In the last week I have purchase .357 mags, .308's, .223's, and .300 Ultra Mags without showing any ID (deer season opened).

I've lived in Texas for the last 2 years and have never shown ID to buy ammo. I mostly buy at gunshows for cash. I even bought some .22LR at Wallyworld, and when they asked if it was for a handgun, I said "NO" (even though it was - I knew that they'd take down the info otherwise, and I wasn't in the mood to give them anything except cash for the ammo). I would do the same if I was buying 9mm or .45 - there are, after all, carbines that fire these calibers. There's no reason to EVER show your ID to anyone when buying ammo in TX.

Do you have to do that to buy ammo via the internet?? Just wait and see the powers that be will push for getting rid of the internet ammo "loophole", PS went to a gunshow last Sunday...didnt see too many Islamakazis using the loop hole, what I did see was a woman merchant tell some skater punks looking for a pistol to take a hike, and a fair amount of people in the over 50 crowd looking for garands...Most of what was being sold was hunting rifles and not too many of the EBR's (evil black rifles)..all in all it wasn't too bad, I went there to spend some money and ended up making money, and you cant argue with that...

I agree with what you said except for this:

"We have already given up our liberty and freedoms simply because women and timid males"

It should have read something like stupid women and timid males.

Exclude us gun owning, wise women from your post. :)

At Wally World perhaps. Maybe some other places. But I've bought lots of ammunition in Texas without a driver's license check. In fact I don't recall having to show it the last time I bought some (.45ACP in fact) at WalMart, and that was only a couple of months ago, at most. I do remember reading something about WalMart requiring an ID to purchase ammunition, but I don't recall being asked for it. It was the day before the opening of dove season, and lots of folks were buying shotgun shells, and getting their licenses. I've never been dove hunting, but would love to give a whirl sometime. HINT, HINT! (I do have a shotgun, 12GA Browning BPS with 24" barrel, and interchangeable choke tubes)

Um, not all women would gladly throw away their rights.

You should change that to "some women"
