It is just like he is talking to a roomful of friends. I am still blown away. I never saw Ronald Reagan, but I have to say—George W Bush is one hell of a communicator. He made you feel like he was talking to just you, in a room of 7000 people. And I SWEAR he looked at me, at least 5 or 6 times.

Yes, yes, yes!!

An amazing communicator!! Passionate, funny, personal, INTELLIGENT!!!

And lawgirl.......he DID look at you! I know just what you mean!! I saw him look right over at me and smile.......or maybe he was smiling at the pumpkin next to me......but, no....the young lady on my left (opposite the pumpkin lady) thought he looked directly at her too!

You know, next time, you'll have to come to West Virginia to see him. It's a very small, Democratic state, and there aren't nearly so many GOP bigwhigs, so the little guys (like WVNan, Eric and me) get a few more perks!

I am SO glad you got to see him up close! HE's GORGEOUS, isn't he???

LOL..the pumpkin lady. lawgirl, if you think your orange hat stood out you should have seen the lady in the pumpkin costume who stood in front of me. The cameras took tons of pictures of her, and by proximity us. I never saw a one of them on the TV however.

I am so glad you think he looked at me too. I am trying to be rational about it---but it's hard LOL! But seriously I think he did see me. Especially considering how I was about 14 inches above everyone else.

I was lined up right there to see him if only he came our way---I think part of it was that he had SUCH a full schedule--two more stops after us even. I really think that if he had had the time, he would have turned and come down my aisle and seen us. *sigh* ;-D

And my lord he is gorgeous. He looked so familiar that at times it was hard to really be surprised. I mean, it WAS hard to believe that there he was--there was our W in the flesh, but at the same time, I have all his mannerisms and looks and gestures memorized-- I know his face so well- that it felt just like the most natural thing in the world that there he was. He felt very familiar.

After all, I've followed him every single day for the past two years, so--it sounds ridiculous but he really is familiar to me.
