POA had GW ahead for a long time - maybe two months - by 2-3 points, then opened up in the last two weeks until, during the last week, they had GW by 7-9 points. I remember it well - I made an ass of myself with my predictions of a Republican landslide.

I must have completely ingored the latest numbers; maybe not believing 'em or whatever. Odd but entirely possible.

I remember it well - I made an ass of myself with my predictions of a Republican landslide.

Har! I was predicting big win for "W", and truth be known, discounting the mischief, I still believe he would have won big. There was just too much tinkering at the very end for there not to be some creativity by the Dims. Of course several close states that "W" probably won would have been a decisive win...
