The movie "The Matrix" best represents life in America so I doubt your theory simply because of the propaganda barrage America would be subjected to if any group took up the challenge you mention. Most Americans faced with what you say would lock the doors and wait hoping the stupidvision keeps on showing ball games while they munched on their Happy Meals. What Bosnia had was primitive organization around the ethnic group of choice, not America's producers/consumers, and these "rugged individualists" are about a hapless lot if their ever was one when it comes to something more than fighting in line for the latest toy at the mall.
