Last night I went to the KVI Face Off at the Panteges Theatre in downtown Tacoma. (An elegant old place.) There were two of the very popular conservative on-air hosts, a Seattle Times colunmist, Phil Talmage, and Jim (Baghdad) McDermitt. It was really interesting and friendly as well- almost the entire room was made up of CONSERVATIVES. How pleasant for a change. Lots of FReepers showed up and I saw a few of my parents friends, and a couple of mine as well. We all sat in one row and had a great time.
McDermRAT was booed by a handful when he came in, not so nice but understandable. However, he soon lost my sympathies when he used incendiary language against President Bush and the crowd responded with grumbles, shouted out commments, etc. Kirby, the conservative talk-show host tried to shush the crowd, but I'd say under the cricumstances that we were well behaved. Conservatives have sat by while we've been ridiculed in the media, cheated with vote fraud, attacked through "legal" maneuvers, watched the country overrun with illegals... I'd say the group last night was ready to "rumble" if given one more straw of provocation. I couldn't blame them. It wsa a good event and nice to not be in the minority again.
