The solution is keeping freedom loving voters concentrated? Like in a concentration camp? :-) Seems rather oxymoronic to me, but then this is the neo-conservative mindset: people must be properly governed to keep them "free."
No not like in concentration camps.
People were kept in concentration camps by the use of force. People can be kept in the R party through the presentation of the objective facts and subsequently, by the choice of the people based on these facts. The word "keep" does not imply force. My above statement did not imply force. But that is your neolibertarian judgement on display as seen in the above statement you made. Words have actual meaning -- they are not based on nonobjective feelings. *chuckles*
Absolutely super point!
I'm not arguing with you but, IMO, it wasn't in real need of a cutting till after WW II, and of course it really needed cutting after LBJ.
Ole Lyndon never gets the credit he should for being the all-time worst president.
Maybe, but I'd still rather be an Afrikaner in today's South Africa than a black during the Apartheid era.
You could be right!!!
Of course not!!
He got 'neutralized' by the media by portraying him as a nut case. Which he clearly is not.
While the media does lean heavily to the left, it does not try to destroy th Republican party to the extent it did Buchanan. Buchanan did not have the money to fight it and many people who really believe what he had to say are just too afraid they will be branded a 'nutcase' also to say - "He has a point.".
What are the responses when someone posts something Buchanan writes or said? The majority of the responses are l- 'He's just a nutjob', 'He supports Hitler', etc. No whatever we do, don't have the courage to say, 'I don't care if the media tries to make him nutcase, what he is saying is true and needs to be heard.'
Now, of course, he didn't get any postive coverage - be honest.
I do not disagree with you at all the both the Dems and Pubs don't want a third party cutting into their numbers. But why would they?
I think there is really more room for a third party to cut into the Dem voter base than in the GOP. That's because there are only three main groups of thought within the GOP. There are the social conservatives, the fiscal conservatives, and the libertarian conservatives. Obviously there is some overlap there. With the Dems, they seem to be more of an association of special interest groups with a general theme of social engineering through the redistribution of wealth. Lots of room to divide and conquer, there.
But getting back to Buchanan, I don't think you'll ever convince me that more than 10% of the country could ever agree with him. That's a substantial number of individuals, but it's not enough to do more than cause some pain to the other parties. In the end, of course, he got nowhere near 10% of the votes, and he failed to establish a viable third party. That's nobody's fault, particularly. It's the fact that his views aren't shared by most people today.
I realize that my third party vote (for a Green candidate, no less) makes no sense to those who put party loyalty above personal values. My problem is that neither political party espouses conservative values like defending the country from those who enter illegally, protecting life, bill of rights protections, minimal government spending and a non-globalist approach to foreign affairs.
I want a third party that has an "America-first" view and understands that immigration needs to be severely restricted, or ended. I want a party that understands that those who are here without authorization are criminals by the very act of being here, works to deport them and fine and/or jail those who knowingly hire them. I want a party that respects the ingenuity, competence, and value of US workers, and protects their jobs and lifestyles. I want a party that does not put corporate greed above citizens. I want a political party that realizes that our country is something special and its environment should be protected.
Since there is no such party, I'm going with Jill Stein of the Green Party for Governor of MA. It sends a message, that the party that really found an excellent candidate can get votes. You say the Greens are globalists...are you implying that the Republicans and Democrats aren't?
It's very close in MA (I'd guess Romney sneaks by), but both parties are terrified by the percentage loss to the minors. They should've thought about that when they determined what issues to emphasize.
Newspaper circulation numbers have had a declining trend for several years now. Broadcast television news is collapsing. This is due to competition by Internet, cable, and satellite systems.
I encourage everyone to get a dish and cancel their subscription to their local liberal rag. When a conservative alternative presents itself, then subscribe. It is absolutely essential that conservatives withdraw their economic support from liberal-dominated institutions.
You aren't sending a message at all, by voting for a fringe party; especially since your choice is C-O-M-M-U-N-I-S-T / M-A-R-X-I-S-T / E-C-C-O-T-E-R-R-O-R-I-S-T. Frankly, the Green Party, is THE only " globalist " / one world order political party there is. You are no Conservatibve. By supporting a GP candidate, you only help the Dems. You're a political naif, who neither understands politics, nor knows historical facts. Neither are you and your ilk upholding any vaunted " principles " or values. You deserve what you get; everyone else , who has to suffer because of your and people like you, ghastly ineptness to grasp reality.
Are you saying that you're against ALL immigration, or just the illegal kind ? I bet it's the former. Yet, I bet that YOU would be amongst the first , to post on an Africa Watch thread, that the Afrikaners should just leave, without understanding that they've nowhere to go. It's all about " sounding right / compassionate " ; just like the Dems. All in all, you're part of the problem ; not a solution and my going any further, won't open your very closed mind.
