You are correct, the rich black criminals resort "race bating, threats of boycots and the threat of government intervention" to extort money.
Maybe its because no one gives a damn what skin color they were? Or at least those of us who arent racists?
The woman was a victim of a morally repugnant crime -- probably the worst a man could commit.
These young "men" were evil. They are criminals. I don't care if they're white, black, red, yellow, or even purple. They committed an evil act.
I honestly don't get freepers who must speculate about the races of those involved in criminal enterprises. I want to believe its something other than racism, but I cannot for the life of me see how it is a legitimate question.
Are you attempting to imply that anyone who wants to know the race of the perps is a racist?
However, it is only legitimate in an atmosphere of racial equalibrium. My comment was more aimed at the press coverage than anything else. If the victims were black and the perps white, the headlines would be screaming at us from every direction, the "Revs" Al and Jacko would already be pontificating, and the knee-jerk white libs would be drooling their groveling apologies for being white.
If a violent crime is committed where I live and the media gives a description of the perp, you know how I know the perp is black? Because the media will not say anything about his race.
If he is white, the description goes: "The perp is described as a white male, average height, bla bla bla." If the perp is black, it's like this: "The perp is described as a male, average height, bla bla bla."
And I decry race-baiters of any type. I don't care if you're KKK or NAACP -- if your goal is to further divide the nation on the basis of race, I want nothing to do with you. (And, no, I am not saying you're KKK. Rhetorical excess.)
My hope is to foster that atmosphere of racial equilibrium. The first step of that is that we must not see a black criminal, or a white criminal or an asian criminal. Rather, what we need to see in this instance is a criminal who just so happens to be black. And we must not see here a black victim, but rather a victim who just incidentally happens to be black.
For that reason alone I believe racism borders on blasphemy.
