When the ER called me and told me he was in a Maryland hospital, I came undone. In my mind going to another state was at least a day's drive.

The irony is that in Beltway traffic it can take a day to travel from Northern VA to MD, lol. The whole time we lived there I marveled that I could travel through the District and two states in such a short time. They probably all thought I fell off the turnip truck. From Central Texas it takes hours and hours to cross a state line.
