I'm still reeling from the shock of discovering that there are any Republicans in Travis County at all...

I am sure Mr. Travis is not pleased with the county named after him. In fact, I doubt there were many pro-hispanic democrats inside the Alamo.

Now there's an odd statement. There were no Republicans given the party had not been founded. There were several Mexicans and they flew the Mexican flag with 1824 printed in the middle, demanding a return to the last constitution. Also most of those who fought and survived the war and later joined the US were Democrats.
