We've been trying to get rid of straight ticket voting in Texas for a while. There was a bill to do it in the last session that I worked for heavily. Banning straight ticket voting is part of the GOP platform, but the bill was actually sponsored by a rural semi-conservative Democrat.

Unfortunately the radical wing of the 'rat party has a stranglehold on the Elections Committee in the House (hopefully that will change thanks to redistricting). It's been run with an iron fist for years by 'rat state rep. Debra Danburg. Danburg is often called the most liberal member of the Texas legislature, so you can guess exactly how far the bill got.

Add the committee membership in and you get an even better picture. There are 3 republicans and 6 or 7 'rats on the committee. Among the 'rats are one of the Dem caucus leaders who is constantly suing the state for "discrimination" via MALDEF et al whenever something doesn't go his way in the legislature. Another is a black democrat Sheila Jackson Lee Jr. named Terry Hodge from Dallas. She screams "intimidation" every time somebody proposes to do something that would get dead people off the voter roles. Another black democrat on the committee has offered pro bono legal representation to Nation of Islam thugs and Quannel X's neo-black panthers. That's what we're currently up against for electoral reform in Texas thanks to 'rat speaker Pete Laney.

Redistricting should give the GOP a majority in the legislature next year, though it may not be enough to defeat Laney for speaker, meaning the committee would stay the same. A couple of RINO state reps named Delwin Jones and Brian McCall, you see, are expected to vote for Laney no matter who has the majority.

I surely hope the Republicans win the House this go around, however, I believe we won two years ago, but thanks to the fraud in those close races, we lost all or most of the close ones.

Another issue that galls me.... Right now, the Demoncrats don't have to allow Republicans to work during early voting nor do they have to let us work the processing off the early votes. It sucks. We must change this law.

Very interesting. No one can claim you are ignorant that is for sure. And it sounds like you really are trying to change things. Good Job. You have more hope than I do. If only we could throw the whole bunch of them out and appoint "Regular Citizens". How did we get to the point where cheating is rampant and very few people ever get punished for it. I just saw some figures on Fox news claiming that 74% of young people are saying they have cheated at school. WOW! Well I guess it is the least we can expect when most of our leaders are nothing to be proud of. I mean you have to deal with people like Sheila Jackson Lee J. I guess we can't expect to much from the next generation when they have examples like that. Take Care
