And people have always had that choice. Obviously, dual-boot machines exist. You just haven't been able to get everything from everywhere. Kinda like not being able to get Pepsi at McDonalds or Coke at Taco Bell, but being able to get both at the supermarket.
You never know, there could be a killer app down the line the requires you to dual-boot.
And if there had been one already, I'm sure there would have been a booming market for companies that could install and configure the dual-boot computer and application.
From an major OEM? I know I can go to the store and get Partition Magic, but the major OEMs have avoided this to qualify for that extra discount on the OEM licensing.

Or anywhere, unless you custom ordered a machine?

You're saying that MS should be allowed to control the whole machine from bootup? What business is it of MS' what else goes on the machine (ooopps, DRM!)? Why should they have a say in what menus popup when I start up the machine?

By downplaying this part of the decree, are you saying that since that app hasn't appeared yet (possibly due to MS licensing restrictions), there is no need for such a choice in the future?
