What sense does it make to force disclosure of APIs?
That is how Microsoft destroyed a few competitors. They would change how others linked to Microsoft in the operating system and then not disclose the changes to their competitors. It is how DrDos was forced out of the business. DrDos was a superior dos system to Microsoft, faster, more features and far more stable. But when Microshaft "Upgraded" windows the allowed all vendors hotline access to help them change their product except DrDos. Indeed some calls to windows were changed so that the new windows no longer ran on DrDos and it forced many people to purchase MSDos 6. DrDos was destroyed. Microsoft used its trade advantage as the operating system shell vendor to destroy its only other serious competitor, forcing the loss of a good operating system to the world. In otherwords, Microsoft used its huges size and monopoly to reduce its competition not by making a superior product but by using its size leverage to destroy another smaller but superior product. Which is why the Constitution says it is Congress that should make laws not lawyers. But it seems that responsibility Congress passed on, favoring spending their time trying to figure out all the ways to spend all that tax money. That means our Congressional system is corrupt. Which is why the Constitution says Income tax is illegal. But the Judges are having so much fun writing laws they are not enforcing them on Congress...
