I read the other two postings on this rodent,any normal coon would have chewed that can to shreds to get it off....this one didn't have the smarts to make it in nature,litter or no litter.

Coons aren't rodents.
They are members of the family Procyonidae, which is in the canoid [doglike] subgroup of the order Carnivora.

Excellent point! I unknowingly closed my garage door with a raccoon inside. The critter ripped the bottom of my aluminum garage door to shreds in an effort to escape. He didn't get out until I opened the door but he sure did some damage. I assume he could have done as much or more damage to a beer can.
