This is essentially true, but we also need an understanding of how it became this way, and the link to leftist philosophy in general.
One of the things I've noticed is that most of them now are baby-boomers. I'm not putting them down, I know plenty that are great, but there's something about them, and the next generation (the 60's) that made it have alot of idealists.
And alot of those idealists seemed to get into either journalism, or activism. Sometimes both at once.
