Sometimes we have to accept that incompetence is homegrown. Just like it was a Democrat that designed the butterfly ballot in Floriduh that so confused the Democratic voters.

There was nothing confusing about the butterfly ballot. It was a smokescreen.

I can't help but wonder if GW is using his rop-a-dope tactic on the Rats this election. What would happen to the Democratic party if there were dozens of highly publicized voter fraud court battles where they had pollworkers actually go to jail? That could be the kind of thing that would put a stake into the heart of Clinton Inc. If GW actually had elections overturned and Republicans won those seats then all the better.

MEMO TO THE EHRLICH CAMPAIGN:

SET UP PHONE BANKS & CALL THOSE 10,000 PEOPLE.

WHERE NECESSARY, HAND-CARRY A NEW APPLICATION TO THEM & TO THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS.

OR, WHERE APPLICABLE, PROVIDE THE VOTERS WITH TRANSPORTATION ON ELECTION DAY.

WORK 24 HOURS A DAY ON THIS.

If anyone was paying attention in FL 2000, the dems sued one of our counties because the Supervisor of Elections did mail out applications to vote when the application did not comply with existing standards. In response to the applications, the ballots were sent and the dems wanted the votes thrown out. Did not happen. Judge said, even though the applications were flawed, the ballots were legal. Slap on wrist for Election Supervisor. These are requests for ballots, not ballots themselves...and they should be held to high standards. That's how the mess on the SD Indian Reservations was detected.

Anyone can send in a request for an absentee ballot to be mailed to them. An independent/communist/libertarian can send in a 3x5 post card, with five pieces of info, which is also on the voter registration list. Name, address, date of birth, signature and party affiliation. Most military request them months in advance, and do not wait for the party reminder...too much at stake.

The Republicans pre-printed them, tried to make them fancy. In Duval, the mailer had a cute little picture of Barbara Bush, reminding people that absentee ballot voting is convenient and helps home bound and working folks who might otherwise not to the polls.

You would think, after all of the angst and legal fees that the RNC would have sent out some guidelines to local ofices before making the same mistake in another election...there is a saying for people who do not learn from experience..."Fool me once, shame on you- Fool me twice, shame on me."

Mr. Ronayne declined to comment on whether Republican officials were reconsidering court action. However, he said the Democrat-appointed election officials and the Attorney General's Office were clearly acting in a partisan spirit.

Jonathan Horn, 20, a Montgomery County resident attending Yale University in New Haven, Conn., learned too late that the application he mailed home from school was no good. The letter he received yesterday from the Montgomery County Election Board was dated Oct. 28 and postmarked Oct. 29, the last day mail-in applications were accepted.

"I feel cheated of my right to vote," he said by telephone from New Haven. "I don't know whose fault it is [but] I wanted to vote in the election and obviously cannot now."

OK, we have a pathetic and cowardly GOP organization who are considering whether or not to take action against vote fraud. They effin better! I think there are moles in some GOP orgs who provide these little slip ups like incomplete info on forms. This doesn't change that the Rats held up on notification until it's too late to remedy. What a team!

This young man in New Haven (and anyone else who was defrauded out of voting) can initiate his own court action. I sure hope many of them do so and I certainly hope that we see some hefty JAIL sentences this time around for vote fraud.

BTW WRT Rats helping illegals to vote: this is actually an attempt by foreign nationals to overthrow our government by stealth if not force. They are non-uniformed saboteurs. The fact that they are guided by interior enemies of America doesn't change that one bit. In fact the interior enemies aren't wearing uniforms either and they ARE working to wreck our government. The price to be paid for this crime should be much greater than that for simple vote fraud IMO.

Just another example of how the RATS will stop at literally nothing to steal an election...... I hope this gets lots of attention.

This is correct. I too received one of these applications--from the GOP. I immediately sent it in, and within days received a letter from the election board stating that this was not an official application, and that I could return the enclosed official application to receive a ballot.

In their defense, I was notified promptly that my original GOP request was not official, I was promptly provided with an official ballot (like, within 2 days). I received my "real" absentee ballot within 3 days (including a weekend).

Now I'm a staunch Republican, so it gives me no pleasure to come to the defense of the Democratic election board, but in this case, they acted responsibly.

Can anyone say "Florida 2000?"

Sounds like the same folks are at it again making sure that Republicans can't vote for their candidate and ensuring democratic gains no matter the cost!

"Doesn't Maryland lead the Country in the crome rate>"

"Isn't it time for a change?"

It appears that Maryland voters don't have the option of voting the Dimocrats out of power! Nothing will change this situation short of an uprising among Maryland voters, and that's not likely.

Which county?

Howard County has not been this quick and responsive... and I've heard secondhand that PG and Montgomery have been equally problematic. (surprise, surprise...)

Just called Republican party in Annapolis and expressed my concern! She said not to worry--they were just a get out the vote request for ballot, and they have contacted all the ones who received them and they received the legal request for ballot. She said that everyone should take a deep breath!

"Let me tell you about Florida politicians. I make them out of whole cloth, just like a tailor makes a suit.
I get their name in the newspaper. I get them some publicity and get them on the ballot. Then after the
election, we count the votes. And if they don't turn out right, we recount them. and recount them
again. Until they do."

to Humphrey Bogart's character in
the 1948 classic thriller "Key Largo".

Seems to me the MD Dems would be very happy to have an operative working with the Republican Committee who would make a mistake like that.

That implies an astounding degree of cleverness, even for Democrats.

... and hold it until November 6th?

That's good news to hear. Now about those dead voters in Baltimore...
