Our Kristalnacht will not come for some years, but it will come. And it will involve those arms. And I suspect that the pattern has already started - demonization, ostracism, and confiscation of property. If camps are necessary, camps there will be.

That voice you hear sneering that nobody's out to take your pretty toys from you, we'll let you have them as long as they're registered? That same voice was shouting "Juden raus!" not so very long ago. This isn't paranoia - there really is a "they" and they don't like us. I once told noumenon to his face that I thought he might be overreacting in this regard. I have come around to his point of view since. It is not a happy epiphany.

Regards, Billthedrill. For what it's worth, I take no joy in being right about these matters. IT's not the sort of world, nor is it the sort of struggle that I would wish for our twins or for anyone else's children for that matter.

But the good news is that we're alive and well and aware. We've done a pretty good job in raising our kids to be philosophers, warriors and soverign individuals. We're prepared to teach, work and to fight as honor, duty and conscience command. As another poster mentioned, 'sometimes the dragon wins.'
