Hidden in the the article is one little sentence that really bothers me and it is this "The United States is the only developed Western nation without a value-added tax." After reading the article twice, I don't think there is any question as to what type of taxation is waiting for us. I think that sentence says it all.

We may not CALL it a VAT but we DO have a form of VAT in the United States right now! They call it a Corporate Income Tax but, make no mistake about it, the thing functions as a VAT in EVERY respect!
