Don't be outraged. They already voted in a dead man in Missouri. That was wrong and illegal. And they kept polls open after hours to do it. And the Senate took in the widow as if she were elected. She was not.
Don't be outraged. What makes this particularly abhorrent to me is that they are changing people's votes without their permission. Just like the 'vote diviners' in Palm Beach County, but worse, because in this case, the voters intent was clear -- voting for Wellstone. To assume that, to a person, they WOULD have voted for Mondale instead, is presumptuous in the extreme.
One thing I always wondered about the whole Carnahan deal is what would happen if the deceased candidate was single? Would the Dems install his favorite Hooter's waitress to the Senate in his place?
