'fraid not. I spent all but 36 hours at the army base up on the old volcano training in the damn lava fields. during my day and a half of down time I went snorkeling, had an awesome meal, drank too much, took a hot shower, and slept in a nice bed. Oh and we ran around on scooters. That was it. Since then I've taken up scuba diving and I'd love to get back there and do some diving.

Yeah, you gotta go back sometime when your time's your own.
I can hook you up with "retired" Army who now has his own kayak since I introduced him to the sport. Probably scubbas, too.

training in the damn lava fields. My husband is a volcano freak. He LOVES them, so we went to the Big Island while Monaloa or Kilawea was erupting.
To get to the lava flow we had to hike for several miles over that crunchy black lava field, wondering when we were going to breakthrough and stick our foot in liquid rock fire.
Can't say I was thrilled, especially when a minor earthquake would rumble and gas would hiss from below.
