A bad thing....I remember Run DMC from back in the eighties. Run DMC and the Beastie Boys actually still exist in my collection...hehe. Pre-gansta rap was fun music, good for driving around town with your friends. I can remember going through the rhymes and trying to get the references...Paul's Boutique-Beasties is still the funnest for this. Before all of you old farts start to scream how stupid this is, remember, you did the same thing to the Beatles and other stuff....so get off your soapbox and grab your walker...hehe

early rap was fun and good....and today is sad...not 24 hour marathon news sad,( which MTV will turn it into) but more like hearing an old neighbor died...

I lost all respect for the Beastie Boys when they started giving concerts to "Free Mumia". They are scum. Run DMC however (at least one of them) turned their lives over to Christ.

Paul's Boutique is a great album (their best, in my opinion), and Run-DMC's "Raising Hell" was really good too, a rap classic.
