Didn't CNN give him his own show for 2 or 3 episodes till they too realized, the guy was tongue tied unless he had memorized his lines? Wasn't that how Jesse Jackson got his show, as a replacement for Jones? Not that Jesse was any icon of articulation.Nope - one thing I've got to give to JEJ; he doesn't air his political laundry out in public. I saw an interview once where he was asked about his feelings, and he declined to give them. He was polite, but said in effect that his politics were his personal business.
So if he is a liberal (I wouldn't be surprised if he were), he feels that's between he, the ballot box and God. I've got a lot of respect for him on that note.
He's never been approached to do a show on CNN at all.

Don't know about the CNN stuff, but I do know that James Earl Jones is a stutterer. It is not that he isn't articulate in his thoughts, but that he literally can be tongue tied when "winging it" and not using memorized lines or looking at a script.

Yep, he had a show for a few episodesI'm sure you're mistaken. When I worked there, I was able to see a list of everyone who ever hosted programs for CNN. He wasn't on the list. He's certainly been a guest on multiple programs on the network, but he's never hosted his own show there.
"My voice is for hire. My endorsement is not for hire. I will do a voice-over, but I cannot endorse without making a different kind of commitment. My politics are very personal and subjective." --from "James Earl Jones: Voices and Silences", p. 360

Are you sure you want me on the obits? I seem to have been banned from the Wellstone memorial/campaign event. You didn't pull a bonehead cub stunt like ask for the widow's comments now that her husband is burning in a fiery furnace worse than the pressroom the night the thermostat got stuck did you? Aw, never mind. Cover it like a Mob wedding.
Go get 'em, Tiger....

Well, I'm not to sure Barry White is a conservative... There are many here who at one time who were not; no problem. they listened and learned. But there are here also some who are RINO wolves in sheep's clothing. I bet Barry would fit right in if he'd come in, stick around, take part, and pay attention.
Hey, Baby...this is FREE REPUBLIC... and it's GOOD!

Yes. I worked there. I was part of the launch team for CNNSI.com. I was there nearly three years. T'ain't got nothing to do with whether or not I'm conservative or not.

And we work for peanutsOh, it's worse than that... we do it for the sheer enjoyment of it! What's wrong with us?!? ;^)
To: archy
Thanks! That would be great. I was a photographer in my misspent youth, so I could pass myself off as either one. ;^)

No; I asked whether the event would be a nice memorial service or a rabble-rousing political campaign event. Guess my suspicions were right, and I can file that story from the relative safety of my home.
