Listening to WBAL Baltimore yesterday-Ron Smith Show 1090 AM

As his guest he has Frank DeFilippo, the liberal political analyst for WBAL who represents the left in the Left/right crossfire style debates Ron has with him.

Frank DeFilippo, press secretary to former (D) Gov. Marvin Mandel, stated that "Its was pure politics-a democrat media show" refering to the sniper press conference that featured MD and VA Democrat leaders. "And poor Connie who represents the area didn't even get invited".

Anyone in Maryland who knows DeFilippo, knows this would be like carville admitting clinton lied.

Except for a mention on Rush, I hadn't seen this in the Baltimore Sun or Washington Post- LOL, so I checked it out myself like a good freeper.

A call to her press office was returned and the person asked me where I was from. I said I was a reporter for FreeRepublic and was checking into the story mentioned on WBAL about it being political and no invite for Morella.

The person did not want to be quoted by name but confirmed there was no invite with a slight sarcastic laugh. I asked if she would have attended if invited and he confirmed she would have.

Didn't CNN give him his own show for 2 or 3 episodes till they too realized, the guy was tongue tied unless he had memorized his lines? Wasn't that how Jesse Jackson got his show, as a replacement for Jones? Not that Jesse was any icon of articulation.

Nope - one thing I've got to give to JEJ; he doesn't air his political laundry out in public. I saw an interview once where he was asked about his feelings, and he declined to give them. He was polite, but said in effect that his politics were his personal business.

So if he is a liberal (I wouldn't be surprised if he were), he feels that's between he, the ballot box and God. I've got a lot of respect for him on that note.

He's never been approached to do a show on CNN at all.

Don't know about the CNN stuff, but I do know that James Earl Jones is a stutterer. It is not that he isn't articulate in his thoughts, but that he literally can be tongue tied when "winging it" and not using memorized lines or looking at a script.

I'm sure you're mistaken. When I worked there, I was able to see a list of everyone who ever hosted programs for CNN. He wasn't on the list. He's certainly been a guest on multiple programs on the network, but he's never hosted his own show there.

No; I asked whether the event would be a nice memorial service or a rabble-rousing political campaign event. Guess my suspicions were right, and I can file that story from the relative safety of my home.
