The untimely death of Senator Paul Wellstone (D-MN) in a plane crash on October 25 further strengthens the chances that Norm Coleman, a Republican, will win the Minnesota election. That will increase the likelihood that Republicans will take control of the U.S. Senate in January. If so, Richard Lugar (R-IN) is likely to be named as the new Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. That step could prevent passage of CEDAW, the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women. CEDAW has been criticized a tool of radical feminism, advanced under the banner of equal rights for women.
Other articles by Carey Roberts can be found in the Men's News Daily archive Under Chairman Joseph Biden (D-DE), CEDAW came to a vote in the Foreign Relations Committee this past summer. All 10 Democrats on the Committee voted in favor of the controversial treaty. Except for Gordon Smith (R-OR) and Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), all 9 Republican members of the Committee voted against CEDAW.
These are the key races to watch on November 5:
Missouri: James Talent (R) vs. Jean Carnahan (D)
New Jersey: Doug Forester (R) vs. Frank Lautenberg (D)
South Dakota: Tim Johnson (D) vs. John Thune (R)
Colorado: Wayne Allard (R) vs. Tom Strickland (D)
New Hampshire: Jeanne Shaheen (D) vs. John Sununu (R)

Has Mrs. Ghoul Carnahan shown up to campaign for him yet?
WILL IT STILL BE HER SENATE?
Oh, really??!
At least for the foreseeable future, the United States of America will NOT be a signatory to any incredibly bone-headed "treaty".
