"You were one of the people that I rapped with the longest."

Yep...and I recall, there was even a half-hearted half-hug involved as we departed company.

"We were talking about how you was a libertarian [thank you for using the little "l"] which put us in the same league since libertarians and anarchists are pretty much the same thing. And I know...we need to talk about that."

LOL...yes we do!! I never said libertarianism and Anarchy were analogous, you did. But we'll review that at a later date.

"BUT AT LEAST WE CAN! See, this is what FreeTheHostages can't seem to understand. They want to pick something out of what I said or wrote, ignore others and twist it into whatever they want it to be. It's childish, really."

So are some of yer tactics, and I'm sure folks can call me "childish" fer some of the things I do, but please don't bring me into yer ongoing dispute with FTH, who just happens to be a new FRiend of mine and was even nice enuff to send me a copy of CSPAN's coverage of the event. Have you seen it yet? You and me are right there together in one scene and I believe Leadpenny and you are exchanging harsh words...LOL!! BTW...leadpenny is no racist, so please don't muddy the waters with such unfounded allegations.

"Fact is, all I want FR to do is just keep the lines open. They have to stop being so quick on the "banned" button. I can understand trying to keep a cordial thing going, but one banned person I know was a conservative who posted a piece from indymedia, and even said it was foul to him. He was immediately branded an anarchist and bounced. That practice is the main reason why OPP has gone after FR."

Well, it looks like yer gettin' yer wish then...and I have no idea what indymedia is, so I reckon we'll talk about it another time. You are not the first to complain about the banning--actually, it's a suspension process and a nice FReepMail to "Jim Robinson" explaining yer situation often reactivates one's FReeper Rights rather promptly. And what is OPP, may I ask?

"If dissent is squashed here, we will dissent in other ways that they can't control, and we will also note what we are especially ticked off about in regards to FR."

Was Saturday an examplwe of said dissent? Y'all should be able to do better than that, I reckon.

"I should also note something else too. The original piece I wrote came after I was reading this page and there were a number of people here saying that something should happen to the anti-war protestors that day. OPP especially goes after anyone who even tries or suggests that. Now this was just after Sept. 11, and we had already had a few incidents, so this was a valid threat to us. I noted in that article however, that in the end everything went back to the usual verbal sniping we always engage in. Things have calmed down a bit. We can't ignore what we keep seeing posted here, and we will note it (I have to write something on the sniper case, and I think there will be some quotes from posters in that). If we keep that dialouge going not just with me but with everyone who has a difference of opinion (indymedia does it), We will all feel a lot better. It's not like I am saying endure bad language or endure personal attacks (although public figures are fair game, as far as I am concerned). I can definitely understand if that is grounds for banning. But give people a chance to talk about things. People make themselves part of the problem if they don't."

This line of communication remains open, my self-described Anarchist FRiend...even if you get banned fer doing something elswhere, usually you still have access to FReepMail, so I don't expect that to change.

Gotta hit Happy Hour, folks!! Hasta luego, mis amigos...MUD
