POSTED: 2:45 p.m. EST October 28, 2002
ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Fans of Charles Moose have a new way to show their fondness for the Montgomery County, Md., police chief.
A Web site -- "ChiefMoose.com" -- is selling Moose mugs, T-shirts and lunch boxes.
Visitors to the Web site can also post comments on the chief's handling of the recent sniper shootings in the Washington area, the event that thrust him into the media spotlight. Along with a formal portrait of Moose is a child's drawing showing the chief in a superhero's costume, with moose antlers.
Site operators acknowledge it is an unauthorized tribute, and is not meant to make light of the suffering endured by the sniper's victims.
The Web site says any profits from sales of "Moose gear" will be donated to the sniper victims' funds.
These victims might still be alive if Moose's MO for the killers had not been looking for angry white guys!!
The killers' car was stopped and let go 10 times.
The way things go - they will be honoring the Moose with a medal for his brilliant handling of this case.
