CAN DEMOCRATS BE GOOD PEOPLE

Can Democrats be good people?

Can you be a person with character and integrity and vote Democratic? I know there are good people who vote Democratic, but I don't understand how they can do it. The Democratic Party promotes evil. The party promotes and approves deviant sexual behavior, promotes the death of millions of babies and teaches many people they can't make it without the Democratic Party. At the same time, they work to keep their supporters poor and dependent on them.

This is the party that says it gives to the down-and-out. Then it sells that down-and-out person a lottery ticket to take the money back. You can't promote an evil to accomplish a good. We have seen that in the achievement level in our schools. How can the Democrats say, "we will help your children" and support their murders at the same time?

The Democratic Party believes any freedom that promotes evil is fine, but a freedom that promotes virtue worries them. In case you haven't lived long enough to know it, most of what happens in your life is nothing but sowing and reaping. Sow good and reap blessings; sow evil and reap curses.

You can't have prosperity voting for a party that gains power by keeping people poor and dependent. You can't have life when you vote for the party that promotes death.

Choices are easier today than they have ever been. There are no gray areas. You can vote for life, and walk in a blessing. You can vote for death, and share in the curses that follow. We have already sown enough death in this country that instead of just reaping, we are moving toward weeping.

If you are a good person and a Democrat, you need to come out from those who support death and evil, and begin to walk in blessings instead of curses. When you vote, you are not only picking a candidate, you are choosing your own personal future as well.

... Can Democrats be good people? ...
Of course they can. And many are. And many Republicans and Libertarians aren't. The world is a messy and a muddled and complicated place.

Turn back, oh misguided one. This way lies madness. A person can disagree with you and not be evil. And you should always be open to the possibility that you could be dead wrong and not know it--yet.

I say that it's unlikely that a mature person -- one who loves heartily -- would vote Democratic.

But Saint Paul thought that slavery was acceptable; St. Francis Xavier thought that heathens couldn't gain eternal life; etc.

Yes, they can be good people. Misguided, but well intentioned.

To me, to be a Democrat you have to be one of three things. Ridiculously stupid, sweetly naive, or corrupt and evil.

The entire premise of this article is rather ridiculous. I know many good people who are Democrats. C'mon people. Stop trying to equate politics with the status of one's soul/heart. Jefferson, the author of "the rules of political discourse" would be outraged by the idea that people who disagree with us must be "evil." Consider this. Democrats have families too. Does anyone seriously believe they don't care about the future of their children? Yes, they may have a different vision of how to make that future better. But, that doesn't make them evil.

I recently met a lot of local candidates at a county fair. One of them introduced herself to me (my son wanted one of her balloons) saying "Hi, I'm Mrs. X, and I'm running for county office Y, and I hope I can count on your support."

I said, "Mrs. X, are you a democrat?" She said, "Yes." I said, "You're wasting your time with me, you're not getting my vote. No, son, you can't have one of her balloons."

And I walked away. A friend thought I had been mean, and that she seemed like a perfectly nice lady. I told my friend that I don't know the first thing about Mrs. X except the company she keeps, and that tells me plenty.

By the way, the local Republican candidates were greatly amused, and my son walked off with all the balloons he could carry and not float away.

Question: "Can Democrats be good people?"

Answer: No, they are physiologically incapable of goodness. It is their very nature to be bad, their very essence is badness. It is what they are; it is what they do-badness. Sorry you mean well. You are attempting compassionate conservatism.

Are any of the folks at DU suggesting that the serial rapist or Terry Mac had something to do with it?

I recently had a seemingly intellegent democRAT blame this recession on the Republicans...which started three months before the slickmeister left office.

There is no hope, and we are involved in a class war.

Intentions?

It's just a bit ironic, don't you think? Such caring and compassionate and well-intentioned people never, ever bother to notice that they've ruined people's lives. They never take stock or reflect upon any of the consequences of the things they support, now do they?

No, they don't. And yet they're supposed to have such "good" intentions?

There are no gray areas.

Ah, but there ARE many gray areas. Our constitution is a balance between freedoms kept by the people, offset by powers granted to the government. So much of life is a matter of tradeoffs and compromise. Anarchy is no better or worse than total government control. There can be honest differences of opinion on the degree to which government must limit freedom in order to provide for the common good.

If you are focused on your one issue where you only see the world in black and white with only true/false answers, you can fail to understand how people of conscience can disagree with you. Personally, I believe that the country is better for having people presenting the opposing arguments to control the people that only see the world in black and white.

Given that, however, I DO see that there is an incredible amount of corruption, lack of morals and ethics, and yes, evil, in too many on the left.

You seem to have read only the title. The article says - Can you be good and promote evil?

What is your answer to that?
