So it sounds like they should have used the gas earlier, before the hostages were in a weakened condition. Why did they wait so long? Were they expecting a leader from the religion of peace to negotiate with the terrorists?

All these deaths--ALL of them without exception--must be laid to the exclusive blame of the terrorists.

Actually, I'm surprised they got this sophisticated rescue organized so quickly.

Fifty of the rebels who seized the theater were killed several with bullets to the head, apparently as they lay incapacitated from the gas. So...the Spec Ops didn't kill one terrorist (with their firearms, at least), and the terrorists didn't kill one hostage (although they were responsible for the deaths of all).

More death and horror to be laid at the feet of the Islamofascists.

Why did they wait so long? They were following Nebullis's advice, allowing the terrorists to kill the hostages in onesies and twosies.
They were trying to find a way to resolve the crisis in a less dangerous manner. The Spetsnaz moved when gunfire was heard inside the theater indicating hostages were being shot in larger numbers. Apparently, a group of hostages had decided to make a break for it, and this triggered the earlier-than-desired response.
Given the information they had, including the nature and quantity of the explosive charges set to go off among the hostages, they acted rationally and quickly.
They followed a Patton-type response in lieu of Nebullis-Chamberlain-style handwringing.

I read somewhere it was valium gas which would work valium is absorbed rapidly in the lungs but How would you dose it valium is one of those drugs where if you get to much you may fall asleep and forget to breathe

I am to, I still think some of the fascoislamists where still kicking when they went in.
Looked at all the head shots and was impressed, of course it could have been the coup de grace, but that would have been an awful waste of intelligence.
Me thinks the cellars of Ludbynka, or their descendants are once again bearing fruit.

But the situation is reminiscent of the Waco tragedy, in that the use of gas by authorities is an issue. One wonders whether the "weakened condition" of the Branch Davidians after all those days under siege made the gas that was used significantly more potent or deadly than the authorities are willing to admit.

This leads to one conclusion.....the Russian Special Forces shot, and killed the terrorist while they were unconscious....
Hmm....I can live with that.

It could be that Taco Bell (or White Castle) catered the show. As a consequence, it was just an accident.

Hmm....I can live with that.Me, too; especially shooting the ones wired with explosives--wouldn't want them to wake up or twitch in their sleep.

Janet Reno had no way of knowing that they wouldn't survive being roasted alive.

No doubt, Taco Bell has a gaseous effect.
Good call...LOL

" More death and horror to be laid at the feet of the Islamofascists. "It bears repeating over and over again until the world sees the nature and extent of the global IslamoFacist threat.

Idiot.
To: Kevin Curry
If not for the rescue operation, ALL, 700 plus, of the hostages would have been killed by the Islamic terrorists.
