Hang him high.

I am very hesitant to believe the whole cloth of this, yet the British excentric is also a well know breed. In any case, an excellent Sunday Morning pick-me-up!

Hang 'im high, perhaps, but not with one of those nasty cheap metal hook thingies. I admire Mr. Chrysler's way of tangling up the barrister in his own rhetoric.
I'd never thought of using hotel-style hangers in my own home. I like the idea. Hook-style hangers are always getting tangled up, and you don't want to hang a good wool or camel-hair sport-coat, for instance, on a metal hanger.

Counsel: What is your name? Chrysler: Chrysler. Arnold Chrysler.
Counsel: Is that your own name?
Chrysler: Whose name do you think it is?
Counsel: I am just asking if it is your name.
Chrysler: And I have just told you it is. Why do you doubt it?
Counsel: It is not unknown for people to give a false name in court.
Chrysler: Which court?
Counsel: This court.
Chrysler: What is the name of this court?
Counsel: This is No 5 Court.
Chrysler: No, that is the number of this court. What is the name of this court?
Counsel: It is quite immaterial what the name of this court is!
Chrysler: Then perhaps it is immaterial if Chrysler is really my name.
Doncha' jes' LUV it!?

I just spat coffee through my nose, all over a Logitech wireless keyboard. I'm going to sue. Sue, I tell you!

Even tho I'm pretty handy in woodworking I never thought of doing this. I just attached wire hooks to the hangars that mysteriously spilled out of my travel bags upon arriving home.

I still prefer SOS for breakfast but it is a very enjoyable article.
Thanks for the ping, r-b.

Thank-you so much for the early Sunday ping!
If this isn't British humor, then it's easy to see where the likes of Monty Python mined for their jokes....everyday life in Merry Old England! LOL!

Man, that dialogue is straight out of a Monty Python skit. Too funny!
Thanks for the ping.

Paging Franz Kafka. Great observation!! Almost sounds like something out of "The Trial", but fortunately more amusing.

thanks for the ping, I spent part of last night 15 feet away from Mick Jagger & Keith Richards so I am in a particularly British mood this AM.
Basil Fawlty comes to mind as I read this court transcript.

I have been a fan since 1965, but have cooled off a bit over the past 5 years. The last time I attended a Stones concert was in 1994 up in Cleveland, OH. However, I prefer to remember them as they were onstage in 1972 in the Boston Garden, my very first Stones Concert - LOL!
In all sincerity, how wonderful for you! If I could have been guaranteed similar seating arrangements I would have been there, too!
