Yet look at what these so-called journalists say about Matt Drudge. When Drudge came along, those highfalutin' elitists in the media accused him of having no editor, no news judgment, and no experience.

 They said, "Matt, you have no filter or training. You just put raw information out there. It's irresponsible! People read your website and they get a totally incorrect view and idea of what's going on, because we haven't processed it first."
Well, what the hell did we just go through for the last 20 days or so of coverage with the so-called "responsible" media? Raw, unfiltered information. None of it was right - at least, not from the supposedly expert profilers and wild guessers. All the information that proved to be worthwhile was provided by those closest to the action: the police and others investigating the crime. |

 I'm going to tell you a little secret: Matt Drudge's website is the source for more newsrooms in this country, print and broadcast, than any of them will ever admit. It gets millions and millions of hits – and if you read it, you'll find that the "breaking" news the so-called real media publishes, looks as stale as the month-old publications in your dentist's office.
Yet when Drudge's site exploded on the national scene and on the American consciousness, and he went to the National Press Club to make a speech, they all clicked their tongues. How times change. Now, more often than not, the giants of media who think that they, and they alone, should decide what news is fit to print, are told what's news by Drudge himself. |
