I only heard those pieces of information on the radio. This morning's Washington Post profile of Muhammad says that the second ex-wife went into hiding in Maryland after she regained custody of her children from Muhammad, so those items of information may not have made it into print.

I believe the feds are all over this like a frog on a June bug. At the wrap up press conference, they used the term "terror" repeatedly. It was a red flag to me, especially considering their search of GroundZero.

Now, with this additional information, it appears even more likely that they are hot on another terror trail. My two cents...

Actually I was pointing out the foresight of several credible people and even the Bellingham (sp?) police who contacted the fibbies on their own initiative - meaing at least 3 separate contacts re Mohammed and NOTHING was done.

As others have pointed out in Oct.01 we were being inundated with tips on terroist. And they were/are still trying to figure out the best way to handle the new situation with limited man power. That this scumbag and god only knows how many others is and damn shame and should be part of an ongoing dialogue. And heat should be kept on all levels of government to fix this. But it is understandable. However as the old saying goes that was then, this is now.

Reading through this article & the posts following....This sounds soooo like the earlier comments (of the media) about Richard Reid.

Initially, everyone thought him such a buffoon....a doofus.....but in the end, we find out his connection to the terrorist was very strong and direct.

I don't buy that these two were acting alone.........

...and I'm darn tired of the PC crowd on TV who are tip toeing around the fact that he's Muslim and has been for years.

And I'm darn tired of ....all of a sudden....even FOX is trotting out apologists of the Muslim faith on TV saying they're for peace & love, and it's the Jerry Falwells of the world who are the troublemakers, and rabblerousers.

Well, excuse me, but I haven't noticed Falwell or any of his parishioners terrorizing communities or shooting folks down in cold blood!!!!!

That's what I thought. This gives an answer to why Mohammed and Malvo were in the DC area. I suspect that you find connections between Camden and the Falls Church area, as well.

Camden is such a pit, I can't imagine any other reason for anyone to go there. They have made a great improvement in recent years, though, they tore down whole blocks of houses and paved over the area.

Doesn't Fred Barnes work for the Weekly Standard? He was very upset last night on Brit's show that the others on the panel were declaring that there were no ties to organized terroism.

Fred was livid, saying is was too early in the investigation to say that. After reading the article, I understand why.

FBI raids jewellery stores owned by Pakistanis

In an effort to break up fronts for terrorist activities, nationwide raids are being conducted on jewellery stores owned mostly by Pakistanis, US officials said.

Over the past two weeks, raids have taken place in several cities, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and New York.

About 75 stores have been raided, said an official on condition of anonymity.

The officials said the shop owners have been asked about their accounting practices and whether they send money to any foreign organisations on a regular basis.

Tariq Hussain, 27, a recently discharged US Army mechanic whose Intrigue Jewelers kiosk in suburban Pittsburgh was searched on June 26, said Federal Bureau of Investigation agents questioned him for several hours and wanted to know if he had connections with the Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

"They took everything, my paperwork, bills, my computer, my checks," he said. "I told them, 'I don't have any links to anything like that.'"

The government had acknowledged that some raids were conducted in late June, but had refused to discuss whether they were connected with the war on terror.

Th scramble to fully identify Richard C. Reid, the man with explosives in his shoes, has turned up a probable link to John Walker, the traitor from Marin County, Calif…

The French newspaper La Provence reported Tuesday that Reid had been an acolyte of Tabligh-i-Jamaat. U.S. media disclosed last week that Walker had been recruited by a San Francisco cell of the same group.

Tabligh-i-Jamaat is a conspiratorial Islamofascist movement with ties to mass murderer Osama bin Laden's networks in East Africa. In Europe, America and elsewhere, it enlists Westerners to fight for Islamic terror.

Tabligh-i-Jamaat means "call to the community" in Arabic. Anybody got any more info on that training camp in Alabama?

The information officer of Fort Rucker said it is run by a retired army top sargent. He said it has been checked out several times and they have never found anthing wrong with the place. He said it was former army instructors teaching people basic military skills for money. He did say they offered trainging in 50 calibre weapons.

Fox sent reporter down there and when he arrived all he found was more media. The place was deserted except for the media. No FBI or local cops or even employees were on the scene.

I think they gave the media Washington state and Alabama to keep them busy. AT the same time they had search warrents for Mohammands New Jersey digs, his girl friends jersey home, and his ex wifes place in maryland. There were other search warrents issued and perhaps conducted/ Fox tried to go to the New Jersey locations and were kept away by police road blocks. The FAA would not give the media er clearance to fly any where near these and other search warrent sites.

But the FBI greased the FAA wheels for the media to get planes and choppers in the air to watch what was going on in Tacoma...

And they game the media the "Ground Zero" becuase it would take time for the media to get their to check it out. When the media got to "Ground Zero" no one was there. The media determined no one had been to "Ground Zero".

It is typical cops way to handle media.... Here media look at my left hand... watch me saw this stump. Would you like a picture of my U-Haul. The media never sees the right hand and is so interested in speculating about what could be in the stump they don't realize they have been stumped.
