I've been searching all over for news of the debate since I missed it. I'm still in disbelief that the running scared democrats are airing their debates when REAL people are working! You'd think there would be more coverage of this debate considering the national implications.
The link will take you to KOMU TV's website, where you can choose which debate topic to view via Real Player.

TOPICS: Government; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections; US: Missouri
KEYWORDS: concedenow; modebate; talentrules; widdercarnahan
Haven't yet watched it, myself! Since I hadn't heard a single thing about it, I'm guessing it went badly for the widder {evil grin}.
Enjoy!

I missed it too - been busy. We've had a lot of people stopping by county Repub HQ to get Talent yard signs which is encouraging. Some are asking for 3 and 4 signs so they can really get the message across. Regards to you and BGH.

Glad to hear it! If you get a chance to watch bits of this, don't miss the Greenie. LOL! He's a hoot!
I was surprised that Talent was the ONLY ONE who stood up for the unborn. I guess I shouldn't have been. What a guy!!

I enjoyed this debate much more than Monday night's. Talent came across very well. He's a great speaker, confident, knowledgable, and concerned about Missouri's citizens. Carnahan obviously practiced 24 hr.s a day since Monday. She was okay and dressed better with a better makeup job. The Libertarian and Green candidates were entertaining. Talent gave good answers to questions Carnahan danced around. He's darn good and deserves to win IMO.

I noticed Carnahan's opening was almost word for word the same as Monday's debate. I agree on the 24/7 rehearsing her "lines". Couldn't even see Daschle pulling her strings :-)

Ping! Any comments on the debate (video links on this thread)? Were any of you in attendance?
To: Marie Antoinette
I got to watch most of the debate on C-Span this evening in Calif. Carnahan is a massive fool. She's an embarrassment. She would stand in the middle of the stage in front of the Libertarian candidate. What a egomaniac! She's a phony. Talent was excellent. If the Missouri voters send her back to the Senate, they deserve nothing but my contempt. For victory & freedom!!!
To: Saundra Duffy
I have to disagree that we deserve contempt! WE have that HUGE fraud machine out in St. Louis, it takes a lot more legitimate votes to overcome the dead vote :-)

Surprisingly enough the old bag did better this time than she did last time. I watched it on C-SPAN. I was incensed when she shook her finger at Jim Talent and told him not to ever judge her patriotism again. He did not respond which was probably wise. She is old enough to be his mother and to get into a finger-pointing, shouting match with her would not have helped his cause.

Carnahan did pretty good in the debate. Listening to her talking about skeet shoots and eating possum made me wonder which party she belonged. She was definately running to the right with a mix of standard democratic talking points mixed in here and there.
Missourians need to ask "Do we want a real senator from Missouri or a puppet senator from Missouri with Daschle pulling the strings?"

Watched this again. Here's my rating. All debated well.
Carnahan - Shook her finger at Talent for "attacking" her patriotism in an overly dramtic manner. Used the tight debate restrictions as a cover. Probably upset at people attacking Dashole's patriotism because she is Dashole by proxy. This woman is an embarrasment. Used the word "I" more than Hillary does. Don't recall her ever mentioning Missouri. Her comments about Ashcroft are a disgrace.
Millay-Not bad but tried to ape the other candidates (mostly Talent) too much. Stumbled several times in her closing statement.
Talent- Good job. IMHO, he won. He mentioned Missouri and it's people plenty of times, but not to excess. Good clear message. I'd vote for him.
Digger - What else can I say, he's Digger.

Finger pointing is so condescending--and just think what the reaction would have been if HE had treated HER with the same lack of respect!
I heard snippets of it on radio and she came across worse than she did Mon. night. She stuttered and stammered and had to be shut up on a couple of questions because she couldn't stop when the clock told her to. It was beyond pathetic---I was even embarassed FOR HER!

I liked the part when her competence was criticized and she said that the other senators had a six-year running start on her but she had only had a year-and-a-half to learn her job.
Funny how those other freshman senators hadn't felt behind the eight ball that their peers had a "six year running start" on them. All she would have had to do was attach a rope around Hillary's waist and follow along, just like they do on the preschool field trips.

I was very proud of Talent's performance. The tragedy here is that honesty and ability do not count in ST Louis. There is such masssive vote fraud there that it takes a large percent of the ballots cast for Repubs just to offset the dead and/or canine vote. Anytime you have 80 percent turnout and 97 percent of those vote for one party, you kinda get an indication of fraud. We really have to turn out for Talent.

Millay "aped" Talent?
Please get real.
Talent and Carnahan wouldn't be distinguishable if they were placed behind screens and their voices distorted. They both want more spending, they are both pro-war, they both want to "save" the failed Social Seucrity system, they are both anti-gun, they both want prescription drug socialism and they both support the war on drugs.
Millay specifically came out for lower spending (and the repeal of the income tax), against the war, in favor of replacing the failed, fraudulent Social Security system, against victim disarmament ("gun control"), against government involvement in health care and against the war on drugs.
The idea that Jim Talent is a "conservative" is laughable. He's only a Republican at all because you had to be to be elected to the House from the 2nd District.
