That's a keeper.

I thank God I grew up with a conservative dad. He came over from Denmark after WW2 so he wasn't indoctrinated by the Canadian system, and that had a big impact on me.

The Canadian people are fantastic, but our current government, and our very system of government, is horrid. I weep to see this nation, with so much potential, fall so short, and I don't see how just electing a new government will fix things (although I hope it will). Things need to get REALLY shaken up, like Alberta (or Quebec) leaving.

I can provide URLs for Canadian pro-US-statehood sites if anyone is interested - there are a number of them. Some are province specific (Albert, USA) and some are all-Canada (United North America). Several have forums where the pros and cons of US statehood are debated. Also search on James Bredin. There is also a Canadian Republican Party starting up (a few years old, maybe).

My point is: there are many more appreciative Canadians and conservative Canadians than their media and government would have us or them believe.
