100 per cent true. Romanians and other Eastern Europeans are just desperately poor; give them a chance to stand on their own feet, and they'll be happy to become part of us. This usually happens to the second generation of Eastern European immigrants.
It's totally different story with any Muslims. The more educated they become, the more they hate us. That's why the weakest point in T Dalrymple's otherwise excellent article is this:

Muslims' isolation everywhere - in New Zeland too - is of their own making. They don't want to mix up with infidels. They're unassimilable, especially the Arabs.
Boy, they cannot be assimilated even in other Arab countries - look at Palestinian camps in Lebanon. Lebanese don't want them also, so the disdain and loathing are mutual.
And some of the Muslims just aren't good for anything except dealing in drugs, arms, white slaves... Albanians and Chechens are good example.
I'm afraid, it'll be too late when our meek society comes to understanding that the infested areas of our cities should be desinfected, decontaminated, fumigated... this task is too tough for the bleeding heart liberals.
They'll choose to convert to Islam.
