You know how much I value you as another Roman ally (in a sea of dread neo-Caths), but LaBelle is talking about something much bigger than just 3,000 dead in an airplane attack (terrible as that is). She is talking about the larger war against Western civilization (and yes, our once-great Roman civilization) that has been ongoing and that has cost much more than 3,000 (ask the millions of innocent unborn souls in limbo who are victims of the murderous "me" culture). Look at television and popular culture. Look at the general culture of death (don't dare to get old and sick, as the doctor will have you sign a "living will" that will enable him to kill you). I could go on and on.

So yes, the evil Islamic thugs are terrible so-and-sos (we get an earful in our SSPX chapel as do you). But that is just an outcome, a consequence of our already having lost ourselves. We can only partially blame those who take advantage of our having already lost ourselves -- and those internal enemies who have pushed this process along.

I'd like to stick to the topic at hand - the thugs and misfits in France who believe there is something that is owed to them without a sou given to the thought of individual responsibility. You and LBDSM can play the blame game and philosophize rhapsodically about the decline and fall of Western civilization and how architecture is one of the evidences of wars and terrorism - utter nonsense.

As you well know, the definition of poverty is never wanting to accumulate anything more than you need - it's in the Beatitudes in today's Gospel. Equally as important is the fact that we are taught that one must work for what one needs and to go without what we can't afford or what we don't need. Gold chains, cell phones, pants worn below the waist, free health care, stealing from parking meters - what the hell do these thugs want from the rest of us who work our butts off to get the things we need. Architecture indeed. You could put them in a villa on the Riveria and because they possess the morals and ethical values of a pack rats, their behavior would not change.
