Canary in the mine bump. FYI: The canary died.
Last week Nicholas Sarkozy - France's former Foreign minister, and hardly less powerful a politician than President Chirac - was asked about integrating Islam with European attitudes on government and democracy, he said:
It is too late to speak of integrating Islam. Wether I like it or not, Islam is France's second religion. Therefore, we have to integrate it by making it a French Islam.
Sarkozy never mentioned a French Secret Service report that was published five months ago in Le Monde, which states that there are about three hundred Islamic enclaves in France, where French laws and standards play next to no role, but it is clear that this report forms the background of his statements.
God help Europe cause Allah sure won't. (this scared the hell outta me)
Godspeed

I think the Brit's have always had a problem. re: nutrition. Even during WW2, when they scrapped the bottom of the barrel for service men, they still rejected something like 25%. The leading cause was "not robust", or something to that effect.

I suppose this is the inevitable result when fatalism passes for sophistication in dying Europe.
Sarkozy sounds almost eager to consummate the union.

A very good read and if you ever have been to certain countries of western Europe you are familiar with the "ring cities".

Unfortunately they also have allies on what passes for the "right" all too often. Grover Norquist, for example.

He designed "worker housing". Bleak looking junk. Tom Wolfe wrote a book on that architectural plague, From Bauhaus to Our House.

Many of the architects of his time fancied themselves social theorists, and they were constructing their buildings for the "new man"(Socialist, Nazi, Communist or whatever) who had thrown aside the past and was going to live "rationally." Hence their contempt for any non-theorists who might have objected to their arrogant assumptions about human environments, theories that had to do with a lot more than architecture and design. CS Lewis captured the essence of that crowd in his The Abolition of Man.

There's only one way to rid your country of these people, the Spaniards were one of the only countries ever to free themselves of Islam. As did the French, once. They badly need another Charles Martel.

...vile rubbish receives accolades for its supposed authenticity: for in the multiculturalists mental world, in which the savages are forever noble, there is no criterion by which to distinguish high art from low trash. Great post. Thanks.

Good idea about the ammo--but--this is a portion of the vision of our future in this world---as a previous poster put it-"wait for the day the welfare checks don't come in LA, NYC, San Fran, and the rest of our major cities"---I am an old man (WW2 vet)and will not live to see it but I fear mightily for my grand and great grand kids and all of you younger folks who will be around when the pure evil of mankind will gather itself to destroy the good in this world---God has been rejected by too many in our nation as well as worldwide---God is not mocked and will deliver what He has promised

Check out his book, "Life at the Bottom" as well. By the way if you go to the City Journal site and search by author you get 30 or 40 of his columns almost all gems.
