Darn. Now you are going to tell me that Robin wasn't really Batman's legal ward?

Calm down Burke. Dick Grayson was indeed Bruce Wayne's legal ward. However, after years of exposure to Gotham City's elite, philanthropic, intellectual crowd, Bruce grew disenchanted with the military-industrial complex, sold all his shares of Wayne Industries and moved to Berkley where he and Dickie became one in a beautiful ceremony.

Slightly off topic..."Batman" was one of the first TV shows I remember, and unlike the 1989-1997 Batflicks, left one the impression that Gotham City was one sunny place. :-)
