What irritates the heck out of me is that apparently this Williams/Muhammed idiot was VERY vocal in his anti-American sentiment, converting to Islam 17 years ago...yet he stayed in the Army and even fought in the Persian Gulf in 1991. Doesn't the Army look closely at soldiers with weapons strapped to their back that proclaim they hate America? Or did the fact that he has "minority status" exclude him from scrutiny? Arrrrrrrgh!
And the notion that he was shooting at a stump in his teeny backyard in a very densely populated area ought to have had the police out there every single time he popped off a few rounds. What were these neighbors thinking? "I don't want to get involved"? There were warning signs for years about this guy.
Bet the shootings in Alabama weren't his first, by a long shot (no pun intended).
He didn't become vocal until afer 9-11 (as I infer from news reports). The army is precluded by law not to discriminate on religious belief, only psychlogical or provable treason/sedition (the guy, John Allen Williams [mohhamad] kept his infidel-a-phobia well disguised until 9-11). Being a "minority" and attempting to enlist in the army is not grounds for denial of entry. And to your last question regarding his "stump" shooting in Tacoma, several people did report the noise to police who were, apparently, too busy with other duties to go to a poor neighbor with much history of gang activity and almost nightly reports of gunfire with no bodies lying around. It only came to light after the Feds, on a tip about Williams, focused on Tacoma and had the police trace his old address down and any reports of suspicious activity (gunshot reports).
