I could see if they went from robbying one store to another .. but to jump to playing target practice with innocent people on the street .. what caused them to do that and how did they come up with that idea??

I assumed that this is the one case they've linked them to, it doesn't mean it's the only time they hit a location while travelling.

They didn't rob that liquor store. One of them, apparently Malvo, shot the two women as they stepped outside to lock up at closing. One died, one survived. Malvo came over to them, looked through one's purse and then ran off. That must have been when he left his fingerprint. He didn't try to rob them and the keys to the liquor store were still in the door when the police arrived. I think that was his "making his bones" incident for Mohammed.
