Jermaine Brooks

He was only consuming it to relieve football pains. What's wrong with that?

Another excellent role model for young football fans .

He was only consuming it to relieve football pains. What's wrong with that? He could have smoked it all and been ok. More people have died from getting in Ted Kennedy's car than have overdosed on pot.

Another life ruined by the War on (Some) Drugs. How many is that now? Doesn't it end with "million"?

At 10 p.m. Tuesday, Fayetteville police executed a search warrant at Brooks' apartment and seized 7½ pounds of marijuana, $16,841 in cash, several rifles and handguns and drug paraphernalia, including scales and plastic bags.
yea it was just for his football pains

7 and a half POUNDS?
Obviously a bit more than a personal stash, I'd reckon.

If this guy had been drafted by Dallas, he would fit right in.
To: Ronin
It was for personal use, trust me!! :-)

"Brooks is the third Arkansas football player to be arrested this year."
Sounds like the Nutt is doing a hog of a job.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
Have the Cowboys made him a contract offer yet?

theonion had a piece on a pro football player who committed genocide on the Lithuanian people during the off season. The league was "considering suspension" of the player until the trial in the Hauge was over.

Puff puff give.... Don't mess up the rotation.

Hmmmm.... I guess I gotta take your word for it, but unless it's some very lame strangy ditch-weed, there ain't no way he is gonna be able to bong that down in less than a year.
And think about how grungy it would have gotten exposed to the air like that!

When I read, "on Leverett street, about six blocks northeast of the stadium" my brain kicked in from my days as a Univ of Arkansas student.....Chateau Apartments.
This was a heck of a dump back in 1979 and was cheap enough that drug sellers mostly lived there!
I know I bought pot there before! lol
I worked at the Pizza Hut on Leverett and hated delivering to the Chateau....no tips! But then again, back then most people didn't tip...the pizza and delivery cost a fortune! A 10" deep pan Supreme was about $9..a large was almost $20!! And a six-pack of Busch 12oz. cans was $3.25...not much higher today! That's why I bought a six pack of 16oz. 'tall boys' for $3.50!
Oh, and minimum wage was $3.15/hour and I watched gas go to $1.10 a gallon.....now minimum wage is $5.15/hour and the price of pizza is much lower, beer about the same, and gas only aobut 20 cents per gallon higher around here. Most food, overall, is cheaper than when I was in college!
See, Reaganomics works!!!

"The first call, it was like "Tell me this is not true,''' Nutt said. "Jermaine responded that it was a terrible mistake. I can't believe it. I told him, 'You don't need money.'''
If he didn't need the money, did he have a well paying job that he was working when he wasn't studying for his graduate level classes and when he wasn't at football practice?
