Anybody read this on CNN?
"Other sources told CNN Wednesday that a communication glitch between the sniper task force and local law enforcement caused them to miss an opportunity to catch the sniper.
When law officers swooped down on a pay telephone at a gas station in the Richmond, Virginia, area Monday, they apparently missed the man believed to be the sniper by about 10 minutes, the sources told CNN.
By the time authorities arrived at the phone booth, believed to have been used by the sniper over the weekend and again Monday, they found only an undocumented worker in a white van and another man nearby. Both men were turned over to the Immigration and Naturalization Service."

Did anyone catch Chris Whitcomb on MSNBC having to back off his statement that search warrant had been issued in Alabama? Apparently, MSNBC had not reported that yet because Lester asked him how he knew that. He must be watching Fox News during off-camera breaks. I saw that too. He almost said he thought it was reported on Fox News but then cut himself off as to not offend MSNBC. Instead he apologized for being "mistaken."

This particular " Camp Jihad " was given a clean bill of health a couple of months ago. It doesn't look very good.

An investigation by Britain's Scotland Yard led to the discovery of the camp in Marion, Ala. The facility is called "Ground Zero USA."

Do crop circles figure into the equation?yes. msnbc reports that one is being dug up and transpoered by uhaul to rockville, maryland, meanwhile, local radio in maryland reports that big chief moose has been so hangdog the last couple of days because of a particulatly annoying wart and has sent for a particular kind of stumpwater with which to cure it. "if that doesn't do the trick, i'll have to bury a dead cat at the crossroads at midnight," moose said.

Just snuck a look at the local news. Terribly earnest speculation that "due to the serious nature of the investigation it is possible that authorities went to the highest levels of the DoD to get cooperation."
JeezeLouise, I could be an anchor idiot. What's the base CO going to do, tell them to go blow?

They have had the best coverage all week (MSNBC).
To: kcvl
Yes, and apparently they also conducted courses in "sniper training" at the camp.

"U.S. investigators are searching for links between Sakina and the failed plan to use a legitimate firearms training school in Marion, Ala., for terrorist training."

re: my previous post about the house not being
well-dressed. I just thought it funny that the person reporting used that term because it describes a person.
I would never make fun of poor housing (in that I live in a garage converted to an apartment). Just another rich republican!

The suspected terror ties of the Alabama camp were unknown until after Sept. 11, when officials in London arrested an accused al Qaeda supporter, Zain-ul-Albidin
He is charged with operation of a Web site, under the name of Sakina Security, allegedly recruiting Muslims for an Islamic jihad or holy war. He is now on trial in London.
The site, since taken down by British authorities, described what seemed to be the Alabama camp, including live-fire exercises at a state-of-the-art shooting range in the United States something that would not be legal in Britain.

I heard on MSNBC that they x-rayed the stump before they removed it from the ground. So I guess they saw bullets inside.as if, had it come up negative, they would have replanted it on national television!
maybe that's why the helicopters followed 'em, to make sure they didn't kick it out the back on the way to the airport.
