In 1945, Stalin had the entire Chechen population removed from Grozny by train and they were dumped in the grasslands of Siberia. They were not allowed to return until the 1970s as I recall.

"Removed by train" sounds very tender... the trains they had been removed by were of cattle cars with a lot of barbed wire on windows, with sealed doors and a lot of KGB guards.

Past suffering however doesn't justify today's terrorism. Russians would be very silly if they let this go. They should round up a town or village of equally innocent Chechen population and make it absolutely clear to the scumbags in the theatre that the rate of killed will be at least 10:1.

I mean, if after 9/11 the Americans made a glass parking lot of Medina or Mecca, Bali wouldn't happen.
