Men Hold Moscow Audience Hostage [Reports of 1000 Hostages]

MOSCOW (AP) — Armed men entered a Moscow theater Wednesday and took the audience hostage, the Federal Security Service said.

The theater was holding a performance of the musical Nord-Ost, one of the Russian capital's most popular productions.

The Interfax news agency said one of its reporters was inside the theater at the time of the raid. She told them in a telephone call that the men had fired into the air and were preventing the audience from leaving, the agency said.

Police units were on their way to the scene.

In Moscow, the hostage-takers have released all moslems and children from the audience. It's thought to be Chechnyans, per Fox News.

When you have read the koran, you will know that the only difference between radical islamists, and the "peaceful" muslims, is the lenth of their beards.

I have read the koran, but was making allowances for those who might not have a clue about the fundamentals of their religion, aka "peaceful muslims," some of whom have never read the koran, and so think these monsters are "hijacking their religion."

More likely they got a message describing what Putin would do to Chechnya if they didn't start backpedaling, and the goblins decided that he wasn't bluffing.

The way I read it, they're *trying* to provoke all-out war with the West. That's why they escalated their attacks throughout the 90s, culminating in 9/11. It's why they're strategically attacking countries that are wavering on the war on terror (Indonesia, France, Russia). If they were trying to avoid world war, they would attack us only -- isolate us, watch Europe and Asia pressure us to back down.

If the above hypothesis is correct, the question is why they want to provoke world war. Do they have only a couple of nukes, and they want to drop them on a major troop concentration? Are they planning to visit smallpox on Western troops and watch as the sick soldiers carry it back to Western homelands??

That's funny because the Russian's are reporting that that the Fed's were on that plane acting on a tip from Russian Special Service about radioactive materials being onboard.

I think thats what I was getting at. If they were afraid that the US would NOT invade Iraq because of the Russian, China, French vetos then that would explain why they are suddenly pushing attacks on them (except for China so far). Maybe they do want a US attack on Iraq.

If the Chechnyans blow up this theatre it wouldn't be at all outside the possibility that Russia might drop a couple of nukes on Chechnya in retaliation for this.

Unlike 9/11, one country's soldiers/militia have attacked another sovereign nation's citizens in a terror act.
