LOS ANGELES(AP) - Two guns were among a handful of items found inside a barn behind actor Robert Blake's home by a man who was removing gym equipment, it was reported Wednesday.
The items were seized by police after they obtained a search warrant affidavit released Tuesday, the Los Angeles Times reported in its Wednesday's edition.

Blake's lawyers petitioned the California Supreme Court on Monday to grant their client bail without a further hearing. ... Among the items found at the barn behind Blake's home listed in the search warrant are two .38-caliber revolvers, 11 bullets, a holster, leggings, steel wool, an oil can, Teflon lubricant, a videotape, checks, a 22-inch metal bar with a black handle, ...Well, I can understand why he was trying to get immediate bail.

Interesting how this moving guy just happened to see into a box suspended seven feet off the floor when he was there to pick up exersize equipment. Must be a really tall moving guy.

Anyone know why the murder weapon was covered in fresh motor oil? What would be the purpose?

A coke can or something similar packed with steel wool will give you a silencer for a couple of shots. It messes up the trajectory though.

motor oil keeps powder residue from showing up on the hand of the killer.... of course, there would be motor oil residue ...

A 2 liter bottle works just as good.

Why do you say that Gawain, are those silencer making materials...just wondering. dale oil filters from a car have long been a "poor mans" silencer. Stuffing it with steel wool further dampens the sound of the out gassing.

The man, who was removing the items last Friday, looked into "the box and saw a blue steel gun in a holster," according to the search warrant. "He also saw a knit hat and a garment that he thought might be a pair of gloves. (The man) immediately became nervous and called LAPD." Oooohhh Nooooooooo. Not a knit hat. Were all dooooomed!
